Laura’s experience with Vivatmo me

“Vivatmo gives me peace of mind!”

Laura B. (aged 33) has been looking for a way to better manage her asthma for years. At first, she only had typical hay fever symptoms during the pollen season. Then, in the course of time, she started having bouts of severe coughing and shortness of breath.

Her doctor finally diagnosed allergic asthma. In the meantime, her limitations as a result of asthma are so severe that even stimuli such as cold or smoke can cause her discomfort all year round.

“My asthma’s been causing me major problems for some years now. I’ve had countless visits to the doctor. I’ve spent hours on the internet researching the disease and alternative treatments and I’ve tried out all manner of remedies. I’m familiar with FeNO measurements from my doctor’s practice. But a home device was new to me.”

Laura was able to gain experience with the Vivatmo me home measuring device during a user test lasting several weeks before the actual market launch. You can read her review here:

“I feel more confident in my day-to-day life and understand my illness better now.”

Laura, 33 years

Laura has suffered from asthma for several years. She always carries her asthma spray with her. She feels restricted in her day-to-day life as a result of the disease. Fear of suffering an asthma attack is her constant companion. Despite medication, her asthma is not fully controlled and her treatment frequently has to be adjusted. She has good phases and not-so-good phases. As part of a user test by associates of Robert Bosch GmbH and their families, Laura had the opportunity to try out the Vivatmo me FeNO measuring device at home for a few weeks before the actual market launch.

“I work and don’t have much time during the week. So it was important that he daily FeNO measurement required for the study could be performed quickly. That really wasn’t a problem. The measurement is quick and easy to perform. The result is displayed immediately. Normally, I would tend to take a measurement about twice a week and perhaps daily if there is a high airborne pollen count. But like this, I can see how the inflammation in my lung develops and can adjust the dose of my medication as agreed with my doctor.”

People who suffer from a chronic disease often feel at a disadvantage relative to others. It’s therefore important to regain a little quality of life on a day-to-day basis. “The peak flow method always made me feel so unwell. FeNO measurement is less stressful. The device looks good, is easy to use and even fits in my purse. I also used the app as an asthma diary and to get information about the pollen count.”

Laura would like to continue to use Vivatmo me in future to monitor her disease. “Before, I was never really able to tell how badly inflamed my lung was at any given time. But thanks to regular FeNO measurement I now know my inflammation values. When the readings are green, I feel more relaxed. Vivatmo makes me calmer!”

Laura’s conclusion:

“I would definitely recommend Vivatmo me. It’s a huge help, especially for asthmatics with severe complaints, like me. It gives me more confidence in managing my disease!”

Barbara's experience with Vivatmo me

“Now I know more about my child’s asthma!”

When Barbara’s* young son was diagnosed with asthma, it was a complete shock. Until then, she had known little about the disease. Tom* is now 11 years old and loves to play soccer. The family has learned to live with the disease. And yet Tom’s asthma is a frequent topic among family and friends. It plays a role when planning vacations and leisure-time activities, in sports and in day-to-day life. Even his teacher and soccer coach know about it.

“There’s always a certain degree of uncertainty. As a mother, I’m often worried. Is he really alright? Is it OK for him to do sports?“

The family had the opportunity to try out the Vivatmo me home measuring device during a user test lasting several weeks before the actual market launch. You can read their review here:

„Since we got Vivatmo, mom has been less worried about me. That’s really cool!”

Tom, 11 years

Barbara’s son Tom already had respiratory problems during his childhood. After he was diagnosed with asthma, the whole family had to adjust to it. Barbara and her husband wanted to know exactly what the diagnosis of asthma means for their son and how best to help him deal with this chronic disease. They pestered the lung specialist and pediatrician, searched the internet for information and talked to other patients. In the meantime, they have come to terms with the disease and usually have it pretty much under control.

“When others go hiking or have a vacation on a farm, we prefer to go to the seaside because of Tom’s asthma. Pets are out of the question because he’s allergic to animal hair.”

As part of a user test by associates of Robert Bosch GmbH and their families, Tom had the opportunity to try out the Vivatmo me FeNO measuring device at home for a few weeks before the actual market launch. For 11-year-old Tom, soccer is his whole life right now. He plays in a club twice a week and has a lot of fun. However, he also notes that he doesn’t always have as much endurance as the other guys on his team. The Vivatmo me exhaled breath monitor measures the level of inflammation in the lungs. That means you can immediately see how irritated the lungs are.

“As a mother, of course I want to know how my child is doing. But sure, if he wants to play soccer, he’s bound to say he’s in top shape. I trust my son and with Vivatmo we both now know exactly how badly his bronchial tubes are inflamed. After consulting the doctor, we can adjust the dose of medication at any time if Tom needs more.” Tom mostly has problems during the hay fever season. In fall and winter, he’s pretty much symptom-free. He doesn’t need to take any medication during this time either. “We always have to weigh up when he can come off the drugs again and when we have to start in spring. Once he stopped too soon and promptly had a bad asthma attack, which had to be treated in hospital. With the Vivatmo device, we can now see how the inflammation values change and react accordingly. That‘s really helpful!”

Tom’s conclusion:

„Since we got Vivatmo, mom has been less worried about me. That’s really cool!”
